Our Bridal Party

Best Man:

Jason Zangmeister

Maid of Honor:

Courtney Nemeth

Jason and I met at summer orientation going into our freshmen year and we began such good friends that we lived together all four years of college. While Jason was an early-bird and I was a night-owl, we found common interests that we both shared and lived the college experience as two of the closest friends you could ever meet. The avid tri-athlete, he gave me motivation to go work out and stay in shape. When Jason met April, I could tell that he was very supportive of the relationship and was one of the first of my friends at Ohio State to warm up to April and help me introduce her to the rest of our college friends. Even after we graduated and headed back to our hometowns and into our current careers, we’ve managed to stay in close contact and continue to spend time together.

When Courtney and I decided to room together during a study hall in the Mentor High School library over four year ago, I thought we were good people who would make great roommates. When we were roommates our freshman year and senior years at Ohio University (In together, Out together!), I learned we were great roommates and excellent friends. I always think that our friendship can’t get closer than what we already have, and then life throws something at us and we grow even closer. When Tim and I became a couple, she was the one to help us come up with creative dates. As our relationship grew, she was one of the first people to welcome Tim into our circle of friends and make him feel comfortable in a group of sociable girls. Now as the wedding nears and our life together begins to form, she is the one helping us prepare and plan for the changes. And in a way, although I’m adding Tim to my life and family, she still gets even closer.

Best Man:

Michael Gerschutz

Maid of Honor:

Kate Anderson

I met Michael at summer orientation leading into my freshmen year of college at The Ohio State University. During our day and a half orientation session with my soon-to-be peers in the Communication Technology Scholars Program, I could tell that Michael was someone who was similar to myself in many ways, but also different in a number of ways as well, the perfect person to room with. As our friendship grew throughout college, Michael and I continued to remain close friends, and one of the classes I took in my senior year was largely in part to take a class in something we have a common interest in, New Media. As friends, peers and co-workers throughout college, we developed a friendship that has carried on past graduation and into our ‘real’ lives.

With a heart that is so genuine it’s a rare find in today’s world, Kate has cared for Tim and I since the day I called her up and told her I thought I just went on a date with the guy she only knew as “idk.”  She has been my soundboard, my shoulder to cry on and the excited scream on the other line as I share with her the happenings of all aspects of my life. Throughout college we shared numerous nights in each other’s dorm rooms, and then apartments, talking of the future and our dreams. Our friendship has grown and blossomed at a rate only college students truly understand and I feel like Kate has been a part of my life forever.  While she stands by me on the day when one of my dreams come true, the best part about our friendship is that I know she will be standing beside me as the future becomes reality in many years to come.

Groomsman:

Michael Brown

Bridesmaid:

Brittany Lubbe

When I met Michael in my sophomore year, his freshmen year, I knew that he would hit it off well. Michael was never one to shy away from meeting new people or sharing his comical, yet quality, keyboard compilations with anyone. After meeting him and living in the same dorm as him, we eventually became next-door neighbors and got to spend time together playing basketball and going out with our group of common friends. Michael was also a Communication Technology Scholars member and together we worked to develop some of his great ideas into website layouts, though I don’t know that he’s published any to this day.

Some of my oldest memories of Brittany were when we would stand (or more typically sit) on the side of a soccer (or baseball, or basketball) game watching our brothers do what they did best.  And now after three years together as close college friends, it only makes sense to have her stand beside me on my wedding day. As a fellow night person, she was my confidante through late night disagreements or when I needed to just gush about some great thing Tim did. She is the type of person who is always willing to share a song with the world, and this type of cheerful and positive attitude has brightened a countless number of days.

Groomsman:

Seth Murray

Bridesmaid:

Deanna Ockunzzi

Seth was another great friend that I met in college (just like all of the men in the Bridal Party, he too was a Communication Technology Scholar at The Ohio State University). His first year at school, I didn’t get to meet him very well or get to know him all that well as his year was cut short to attend Basic Training for the Air National Guard. Following that, Seth and I both served as student instructors in the scholars group (he is a big fan of audio recording/production, I am into web design) and ended up being next-door neighbors, as he was my Resident Advisor in my senior year. Seth has always been a great friend to be around and an overall great guy – always with a story to tell, whether it be about the latest story from the most recent weekend of drill or just something exciting in general that was happening in his life.
I don’t quite remember how Deanna and I determined that we both had serious boyfriends attending The Ohio State University an hour and a half up the road, but I’m thankful for the day that it happened. What began as someone to talk with to pass the time and split the gas money, grew into a friendship that I will treasure forever.  Deanna and Scott, her husband, have been one of the first couples that we’ve enjoyed spending time with in the “real world.” It has been so wonderful to be able to share stories and excitement with someone who is also getting married and is going through similar experiences. We also share interests in journalism and writing, and she serves as an excellent support system in a tough competitive field.
